A Message From the Founder

Dear Visitor,

Thank you for visiting the Strix Louisiana website and welcome! Please let me give you a quick introduction to myself and my company, Strix Louisiana.

In 2008 I was evaluating where I was life and honestly, I felt I hadn't challenged myself enough. From the time was young I had always strived for accomplishment. In Boy Scouts I reached the rank of Eagle Scout. I was the Drum Major at St. Amant High School. In the Air Force ROTC program at LSU, I served as the Vice Wing Commander. In my professional life, I had served for 10 years as an IT Director for a small business here in Baton Rouge. Though I was not without achievement, there was still a voice within me saying I could do more.

So I began looking for opportunities. The technology market in states like California, Florida, and Texas were well ahead of Louisiana, offering some exciting openings but my heart wasn't in those states, it was in Louisiana. I love LSU sports, I love Louisiana food, and I'm not sure I could do without both of those. I'd also offered my fair share of criticism of the "brain drain" in Louisiana. Could I, in good conscience, join what I felt to be one of the biggest threats to our state? In the end, I just couldn't do it.

And so, I decided to take on one of the biggest challenges someone can take, starting my own business. I spoke with my employer of 10 years and was able to lay out a mutually beneficial plan wherein they would become the inaugural client of Strix Louisiana, my new IT Services company. I added as clients some other companies I had moonlighted for and Strix was on its way.

I built Strix on some simple core tenants. Be knowledgeable in technology, be practical in business, and above all, be honest at all times. I know technology can transform a business because I see it every day. Done smartly, technology investments bring big returns. Skeptical? Call me, I'll show you. I won't feed you lines and I won't sell you anything you don't need. I will challenge your thinking with solid reasoning and if you let me, I will make your company a better, more profitable place.

In the end, I am proud I took the challenge of staying in Louisiana and opening a business. Strategically it was a great decision as Louisiana now has one of the fastest growing technology markets in the nation. Strix Louisiana is here to help you join in that growth and I look forward to working with you soon.
